Welcome to the Amanda-Jayne Stage School
Our classes
The school was founded in 1981 by Amanda-Jayne at the Community Centre, Parkwood. After starting with just 6 children, the school has grown to a wonderful vibrant school based at The Academy of Woodlands, Gillingham.
We have access to three lovely studios with sprung floors, mirrors and barres. There is also the Oak Theatre where we have classes and some of our productions.
Our classes take place on Saturdays during term time and they cover a variety of styles in one session.
Our class for 3 to 4 year olds starts with one hour of ballet and tap, with jazz and musical theatre being added when students are ready to move up to the next class, taking the session up to two hours.
Our senior students have the chance to include other dance styles in their class in additional to ballet, tap and jazz - for example contemporary and lyrical. We are also hoping to introduce visits from industry professionals during our senior classes.
A little bit about us
We strive to have a welcoming and inclusive community where every student is valued and encouraged to grow in confidence and build their skills.
We have regular productions with the highlight being our variety Showtime showcasing our students every two years at The Hazlitt Theatre, Maidstone. Our next Showtime is already booked for July 2026!
We also have produced some pantomime style shows, for example The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella and Peter Pan. Our latest show was Belle and the Enchanted Castle which took place at Gads Hill School Theatre in July 2025.
We also enjoy the occasional Christmas performance which takes place in the Oak Theatre, watch this space for our next Christmas Magic!
